I’m about a third of the way through esthetician school and I’m still loving it, which makes me very happy. We’ve learned almost all the treatments that we’ll be performing throughout the rest of our time in school, minus a good handful. And we’ve finally started taking clients!

Up until now, we were learning treatments every day (which we still are) and practicing on one another to get things memorized. Now, we’re actually putting those treatments into practice. It is certainly nerve wracking to start performing all of these treatments on clients (aka complete strangers), but this is exactly what it takes in order to become comfortable and skilled in something. This anxiety and fear is what has often prevented me from doing something I wanted to in the past, which is why I’m thankful for school, because it structures everything (including the routine of fear) so that it’s all laid out for me and I just have to put in the time, effort and work to get from point A to point B.

So far we’ve learned facials, waxing, peels, microdermabrasion, lash lifts, lash/brow tint and even body treatments. Although I enjoy the routine and the foundation of a facial, I’ve come to enjoy waxing more than expected (underarms and legs are my preferred areas), but I’m very much looking forward to my masters program. When this program ends in mid-May, I’ll take my state board test to get my esthetician license, then I will be going to the masters program in July. That’s where I’ll be learning laser treatments, laser hair removal, tattoo removal, body contouring etc., which are the things I’m really looking forward to.

Until then, if any of you are interested in getting a treatment from me, please feel free to call my school and request me! I’m available at 115pm and 3pm on various weekdays and 8am-5pm on Saturdays, starting in March. (425) 255-8400. XO
