Working out has always been a struggle for me, but I’m trying to make it less of a struggle this year. Rather than make an intense New Year’s resolution, I decided that my one change will just be to work out more. And I’ve already succeeded! I’m working out more now than I used to, so I take it as a win. So this past Christmas, my boyfriend got me a month unlimited at Pure Barre to help me with my plan to exercise more, which has been so incredible.

For those who don’t know, “Pure Barre is a total body workout that uses the ballet barre to perform small, isometric movements, which burn fat, sculpt muscles and create long, lean physiques.” – Pure Barre website.

The first time I ever did PB, I felt like I was going to die. Ever since then, I’ve only done it once in a blue moon. And now, I’m doing it 3-4 times a week and loving it! I actually feel like I’m getting stronger because the classes seem to be getting more and more doable for me. I can especially notice a difference in my butt, which makes me SO happy.

It’s small changes like these that help make bigger changes in the long run. I didn’t go on a crazy diet, I didn’t try to get myself to be a runner when I know that will never happen, but I did tell myself I needed to move more and that’s what I’ve done. I’ve also been trying to do Soul Cycle once every week or so, but that’s only when my kind mom wants to pay for me to attend the class with her. Otherwise, it’s Pure Barre for me (for now).
