As someone who loves the sun but doesn’t love lying in the sun or being exposed to the sun for too long, self tanner has come very much in handy. I’ve been lucky enough to be someone with an olive skin tone, but every now and then I, too, want a little extra glow. And I’m certainly not going to go in the sun to get it.

So I began taking an interest in self-tanner.

I’d never used self-tanner in high school, unlike most of my friends, so I was rather scared to give it a shot! I’d always seen streaky applications and even orange-tone tans so I wasn’t sure where to start.

But then, I heard Jessie James Decker mention that she used to use L’oreal Sublime Bronze in high school since it’s a budget-friendly option. If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with her, so I always listen to her recommendations on things and decided to give it a try. And I fell in love!

This stuff is so, so good. I use the medium tone and have gone for the Tinted Lotion, rather than the Pro Perfect Airbush, though I’d like to try that next since I’ve heard great things about it as well.

What I love most is that this product spreads evenly, features brown/bronze tones rather than orange tones, includes a subtle shimmer and provides such a beautiful bronzy glow. I apply this during winter months after the shower and put my lotion on top, rather than the other way around and it’s so great because you really can’t go overboard with this. If you decide to give it a try, let me know what you think!
