Up until recently, I never really took much of an interest in masks. I don’t know why exactly. Maybe it’s because they hadn’t been trending before now? But maybe it’s also becase there had never been as many great options out there to try as there are now!

And to add onto that, I’ve started DIY-ing my own masks!

The biggest problem I notice with my skin is that it sometimes feels dry, dull and rough. So, I decided to go for a moisturizing, dew-inducing and hydrating mask, rather than a drying, tightening mask.

Enter: Coconey masks. This is a mask made of coconut oil and honey. Ya don’t say…!

I don’t really measure when I do this, and I don’t think you necessarily need to either. Think about how much product you use on your face when using a store-bought mask, then only make that much of a mask. DIY face masks aren’t something I really plan to store for future use, but rather just have the ingredients on hand at all times so I can make them whenever I please.

So, just put together equal parts coconut oil and honey and mix it up! Apply to your face. You will notice that your face instantly feels soooo smooth. Initially that’s just the honey sitting atop your skin, rather than your skin itself, but once we’re done with this mask that’ll be a different story.

Leave it on for 10 minutes. I normally like to leave masks on longer than this, but this mask is a bit mess, so any longer than 10 minutes and it’ll be dripping all over you.

Once you remove, you will notice more supple, plump, hydrated skin that really is softer! I love it! I didn’t even feel the need to apply a moisturizer, though of course after I washed the mask off, I did indeed do my normal nightly routine, but I love that my skin felt so nourished afterward. Not stripped and dry like it’s felt after other masks. If your skin needs a big drink of hydration, this DIY mask is just the trick. Add in a mashed avocado too for even more good nutrients!

Coconut oil and honey are such great natural ingredients that have such great benefits, and we’re only beginning to uncover them, so go ahead and give this mask a try when you’re feeling a little dull and dry too. Great skin is only 10 minutes away.
