I love beauty hacks. I don’t like to take too much time getting ready. Ever. At all. So, I like to find quick ways to look like I’m more made up than I actually am. Especially on a day-to-day basis. When I’m getting ready for a date night or for a night out in…Vegas, yes, I will put on bronzer and all that jazz, but for everyday? Heck no.

However, I realize that I feel so much better when I actually do put in some effort for my daily routine. I just feel more confident and I think that’s important. So, beauty hacks have become my best friend.

  1. Moisturize. My goodness, moisturizer is just essential. If you don’t moisturize your skin at this point, I don’t know what rock you’ve been living under. Moisturized, hydrated skin is the QUICKEST way to get that glow that we all seek. If you moisturize your skin, you’re already halfway there to your first beauty hack. Now, I have skin that’s more on the dry side as opposed to combination or oily skin. So, I over-moisturize (if that’s a thing). But when I’m getting ready for the day, I throw on some extra moisturizer under my eyes and even on my forehead. Now, if you have a little tube of shimmer highlighter, throw some of that in your moisturizer for the perfect day glow.
  2. Concealer just at the corners of your eyes. Oooooh goodness, this hack is amazing. I can’t tell you how much concealer I’ve saved by doing this. I also can’t tell you how little a difference I see when I spread the concealer all the way across my under-eye area versus just at the corners. I’ve read that the shadows from the corners of your eyes are what make the under-eye area look so dark and shadowy, so once you lighten up that area, you’ll see a huge difference.
  3. Blow dry your eyelash curler. Why didn’t this get discovered earlier? Obviously we don’t use a cold curler on our hair and expect to get beautiful waves. No, we heat it up. Same thing goes for your eyelashes. When you blast some hot air on your eyelash curler, you’ll see how much more curl you get out of your lashes and how long that curl lasts. Just be sure to blow on the curler first because, yes, you can burn your eyelids this way. Then just throw on some clear mascara for the day to day.
  4. Fill in your eyebrows. My best friend thinks she looks stupid when she just fills in her eyebrows and doesn’t do the rest of her full-face routine, but I think it makes the best difference in someone’s face. It really lends to the structure of your face and makes you look more awake and put together in my opinion. I’m a huge fan of pomades these days for a natural look.
  5. Blow dry your hair to eliminate grease. This one seems nasty and, well, it kind of is, but it’s also effective. First thing I do when styling my hair after a few days of not washing it is flip my head upside down and blow dry the roots. Then, spray some of your fave dry shampoo in the roots, let it sit for a moment, then flip your head upside down again and blow dry. Then proceed with styling like normal. Magic!

These five steps are literally my beauty routine on a daily basis. Piece of cake!
